Project overview
A Palos Verdes Estates homeowner found a snake moving through leaf litter along the side fence while gardening and was not sure whether it was venomous.
Our technician arrived within the hour, located the snake under the fence line and identified it as a harmless species.
What the client needed
The homeowner wanted the snake removed safely, a positive identification, and advice on why it was in the yard.
- Safe capture without harm to the snake
- Species identification
- Relocation away from the home
- Advice on making the yard less attractive
Our approach
The snake was captured with tongs, secured in a locking bucket and relocated to suitable habitat. We then walked the yard with the owner and pointed out the leaf litter, wood stack and rodent activity that drew it in.
